FAQ

  • Is this the only training I need to be proficient in echocardiography?

No. Absolutely not! Echocardiography requires a committment to life-long learning. It is a skill that can be challenging to master and 12 weeks is not enough time to allow for that. This course is designed as a clinical bridge pathway into Adult Echocardiography for sonographers who are cross-training at their work facility. This provides the core didactics and targets basic foundational core echo views and quantifications - when combined with your local learning pathways and clinical verification, this will help provide a solid foundation and a clinical jumpstart into Cardiac Ultrasound.

  • What are the prerequisites for this course?

All learners in this course MUST be a registered sonographer or a physician with understanding and documented proficiency in ultrasound physics. This is not a stand alone echo course. Learners will be expected to have the core ultrasound foundations prior to attending this course.

  • Can I take the online only portion without the hands on session?

Yes. If you are just learning echo and are new to the hands on aspect of echocardiography, we highly recommend the hands on scanning labs. However, we do offer the stand alone online didactic course, as many learners have hands on support at the facility where they are cross training and only need the didactic foundation. You're free to book the online only portion at checkout.

  • Will I be able to pass the registry exam by completing this course?

This course does not provide a formal pathway for eligibility for your registry exam. If you are currently eligible to sit for the registry exam through CCI or the ARDMS, then this can help prepare you for those exams. However, this course does not meet any pathway requirements and does not provide clinical verification forms or clinical sites necessary for registry eligibility.
